Fourth Wing (The Empyrean #1) by Rebecca Yarros Review

First off, let me just say, this book was a blast! Did it redefine literature as we know it? Nah. But did I have an absolute blast reading it? Heck yes!

Now, let's talk about our main characters: Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorson. Violet is your classic strong, independent woman with a heart of gold. She's got this whole noble-born thing going on, but she's also not afraid to get her hands dirty. Then there's Xaden, the brooding bad boy with a mysterious past. Yep, we've seen these characters before, but you know what? They're still a whole lot of fun to hang out with!

Time to address the elephant in the room: clichés. Is Fourth Wing entirely written in book clichés? Absolutely. But you know what? Sometimes clichés are clichés for a reason—they work! And Yarros manages to put her own spin on them, keeping things fresh and entertaining. So yeah, while this might not be the most original book out there, it's still a heck of a good time!

But here's the real kicker: the chemistry between Violet and Xaden is off the charts!  Their romance is a slow burn that will have you flipping through the pages faster than you can say "swoon-worthy." And let me tell you when they finally come together? It's fireworks, my friends!

Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars)

Spiciness: ⭐⭐⭐(3/5 stars) – PG13

Writing style: ⭐⭐⭐(3/5 stars)

In conclusion, Fourth Wing might not be breaking any new ground, but it doesn't have to. It's a fun, fast-paced read with characters you'll root for and a romance that'll leave you weak in the knees. So, if you're in the mood for a little escapism and a whole lot of fun, give this book a shot! You won't regret it.
